Make your bed

It’s not just around the corner
Or the shadow by your bed
It’s not biding time or opportunity
It won’t judge you when you’re dead
But Karma dear (as we now call it)
Manifests in many ways
While driving balance through our lives
(as it has for many days)
In subtle ways I see you change
(or some need only stay the same)
I'm not surprised at your ‘lot’ in life
Cause you’re the only one to blame
Why is money so hard for you?
'Cause you take more than you need
Judge your life by things you buy
And you will be governed by your greed
Why does no one trust you?
'Cause you think your being sly
But nothing that you do today
Escapes karmaic eye
Why will no one help you?
'Cause you never learnt to accept
Someone is always in more pain than you
And they are dying from your neglect
Why don’t people talk to you?
'Cause nothing that they say
Deserves to be turned into
Bitchy gossip the next day
Nothing feels and nothing seems
In all my thoughts and all my dreams
Worth enough, from day to day
To throw my precious karma away
But in the end when it’s only you
Will you lie to yourself and pretend it’s true?
Why will no one love you?
'Cause you gotta love yourself
Respect yourself with nothing
And you’ll truly know your wealth
