Life I Lead

Tried to find happiness

At the bottom of a bottle,

And smoke all my troubles away

But instead

But only brought me sickness and pain

As I try to escape the true realites

Of this new phase of life I lead

That foolishly, I did not prepare for.

So, as I slowly hit rock bottom

Whilst I sit here in silence

I still search for that hidden road

To take me away from all the things

That bring me down.

Yet, I wander these streets alone

And still cannot find the start of it

Have I missed it?

Or am I already on it..

Laying out the pavement

With each and every simple step I take.

I know this won't be an easy Journey

As it tests my true character

But, I know I must be strong

And fight through all the pain and torture

Otherwise

I'll be broken before I finish the path..
