An old man stared at the vast sea clutching a precious charm. His wooden boat creaked and swayed in the sea while the crew loaded the cannons and prepared the harpoons. The day had come, the war had begun. The sun was almost down when suddenly a large figure rammed the mast of the boat, knocking everyone from their feet. The creature leapt over the crew revealing itself.
It was as large as the vessel, it looked like a blue armoured whale with teeth, decorated with ruby markings of age. The old man smirked as it crossed over the other side of the boat. The water foamed and collided with the ship's planks, knocking it back and forth. The beast encircled the boat to endeavour a final blow. The old man rushed to a cannon and fired into the eye of the monster, it roared a blood freezing cry.
It leaped towards the boat, shattering the planks of the starboard side. It slowly tipped to one side, the old man ordered the crew to escape for he would stay. The sailors dived off the doomed ship saving themselves from a ultimate fate. The behemoth sized creature dived at the man, swallowing him whole along with the ancient charm.
It plunged back to the darkest depths never seen again unless it was provoked.

The year was 1994 in London and an ancestor of the old man named Jack Walkenson was wandering the cold paved streets of the grand town in depression. His apartment was going to be sold to someone else, he lost his job, he was broke and his girlfriend had left him. He jumped into the air when his phone bleeped, he pulled his mobile out.
'Hello is that you Jack,' a withered voice said from the phone.
'Who is this,' said Jack.
'Its dad, son,' he said.
'I want you to meet me at my home in Scotland, it could help us both.'
Jack immediately set to Scotland to meet with his father. A day passed and Jack stumbled across his dad's cottage, he walked up the pavement looking at the roses and daisies sway in the soft breeze. He pressed hard on the doorbell waiting for a reply. The door slowly opened as a frail man stared at Jack with a large grin on his face. They both entered the house.
They sat in a classical type of lounge with tiger rugs, rocking chairs and mahogany tables with white doilies in the middle.
'So Jack I hear you haven't done too good in life have you' Dad said disappointed.
'Not really, but what is thing which could help us' said Jack trying to steer the subject.
Dad moved up to Jack with a smug smile and whispered into to his ear, 'I have spent twenty thousand pounds on a hunting voyage by ship, I want you to hunt a legendry creature known as the Leviathan, it supposedly swallowed one of your famous ancestors along with a very lucky amulet. If you kill it, you can get the charm.'
Jack shifted back and shouted 'ARE you out of your mind! One, the captain would think your mad and two, the amulet and leviathan could be just myths'.
'Yes I know, but you won't tell them that, they think they're hunting a vicious whale, and also I have seen the beast.' Dad said trying to persuade Jack
'Okay¦ but how am I going to know where it is' Jack sighed
Dad shuffled in his drawers next to him and pulled out an old diary 'This diary contains all the information about the leviathan but you must keep it secret from the sailors'.
Three days past and Jack found himself on the ultimate voyage. He walked up to the ship which separated him from the murky port. The horn blew as the ship detached from its home and set out to prove itself to the seas. Jack often found it hard to keep the diary hidden from the captain's inspections (to keep crew members from sneaking alcohol ) although Jack managed. They were passing the Atlantic ocean and Jack was staring at the vast sea clutching the diary until the navigator rushed to him with hot sweat down his cheek panting to Jack
' There's something big it migh¦,' a earthquake of a thud shook the boat knocking everyone of their feet.
Jack dropped the diary as it became open to the sailors eyes, the captain sprinted to Jack to see if he was okay, but his eyes wandered to the diary. He picked it up and observed it,
'What's this¦oh no you haven't lead us to the Leviathan, you've gone and doomed us all boy,' the captain cried.
Jack got up from his feet thinking of an excuse, 'well just think if we kill this thing we could earn millions.'
'But boy it's not the money I'm interested in, its helping the public and to earn respect ¦I thought you were alright,' the captain turned away and ran to the harpoon gun.
The creature was about to slam the steel of the ship with tremendous force until a harpoon punctured a crevice of the leviathan's armour. It dived into the sea ripping the harpoon gun off the ship like tearing a sheet of paper, the sailor was flung off the harpoon gun and slammed into the water. He squirmed in the waves when he suddenly vanished with only a pool of blood left. The waves calmed and everything went silent like as if nature fell asleep. Two of the crew walked to the centre of the deck with relief. Although Jack noticed the steel they were standing on was bulging, then an eerie metal bending noise was heard. The deck burst with shards of the metal, as the beast clenched the two sailors in it's hollow mouth the captain shot at it with his rifle.
It sank back down and rammed the boat consistently, Jack watched his crew suffer while he went into a powerful rage and shouted at them to dive off to save themselves. Immediately they leaped for their lives, the captain whispered while he jumped 'Your alright boy,' as he splashed into the water Jack watched as his fate was about to take him to the bottom of the sea. The leviathan leaped towards him while he stared at a rusty cannonball lodged in its eye before swiping him into the stomach of the beast. The crew watched as the ship sank and the tail of the leviathan crash into the water. Those who watched mourned for their hero Jack.
Meanwhile Dad awoke from a sleep and maniacally laughed, he evilly shouted,
'History has made it's full circle, the sacrifice is complete.'
He started to fall apart like sand and his home aged till it looked derelict. For a cry of the beast was heard.
