ONE

Into,
I walked out
Discovered,
I hide.
Told to wait,
But ran instead,
Never settled,
I’d always fled.
In this time today soon cast,
Blind in youth my fate soon past,
Once deaf,
In my lost moments now seared and slain,
I now hear life,
Rushing sands and rustling trees upon dry plains.
Tasted pleasure and in time found fear,
Too much too soon to new,
So far, so near.
Was once loved,
But never knew,
Loved myself,
But never you,
We are who,
To judge a heart,
From down deep within the midnight dark,
Ourselves in covered ash we sit,
And open look into life’s pit.
We soon depart,
In search our faith so deeply cast our final fate,
And windows dressed,
We stand quite bare,
For all to see how lost,
How scared.
There’s nothing simply cast in stones or etched in the book of life,
Which showers man in gold and love his crown adorned in light,
Not one last moment,
Squandered quick,
Lost or left alone,
No time to turn from this last breath,
It’s now a pathway home.
As deep dark questions leave the mind,
Of whether God was yours,
Or was he mine?
For as you’ll find we hope not late,
That loves not left to a tinker’s fate,
For if it were you’d soon regret,
The journeys quest of darkness met.
Where windows in this place they dwell,
Tonight and then not certain where,
The sacred heart now pierced but blessed,
Where dreams and fears reflect His rest,
And love in whispers floating by,
As bright white doves in morning’s flight.
These stories big,
Are small in truth,
Winters gone and spring draws near
Another frost and summer’s here.
Beaches swept in winds which change,
Trades from here to far off plain’s,
Whisper too so no one knows,
Hidden dreams in words still cold.
Far off places in lands unknown,
Seek the Word and His true throne.
Never was and never knew,
That this life mattered,
Until you.
