The dragonfly & the frog

As if my words were mere ripples in a pond

like a dragonfly you ignored me and flew off

in search of less turbulent places

making me feel like a slimy frog

with a tongue to be feared

by one as magnificent as yourself

one who can take flight and disappear

high high up into the sky

to stare down from a lofty perch

at a despondent creature such as myself

yet I do not feel so loathsome,so wrong

nor do I see us so different,so incompatible

as to wish to croak

No,your beautiful wings may carry you away

yet you shall not escape this argument

for these words shall carry forth on the wind

to wherever you may have gone

leaving this pond,and me,once more

Argueably ugly but quite calm
