It was a warm summer afternoon. They fresh scent of daisies filled the air as Karen was going for a walk around her neighborhood. She smiled at everyone she passed, she was having such a great day. How could she not be? Her boyfriend just proposed to her and she just got a promotion at work, things couldn’t be going any better.
As Karen approached her house, she got a strange uneasiness. She just brushed it off and went on inside. When she entered the house she noticed it was strangely cold but it felt refreshing from the warm summer air outside. She decided she was going to relax on the couch and watch some T.V. She was very excited when she saw her favorite show pop up in the guide. It was a sitcom about a small group of friends who live in Colorado. As she was watching she thought she heard a little giggle. She got creeped out for a minute and decided that it was just something in the show and that she was just being silly. She decided to get up and go get a snack. When she got in to the kitchen she looked out the window and noticed a little girl standing in the street looking at her. Karen just smiled and waved to her. The little girl just stared blankly at her. She became a little frightened when she returned to the living room. The T.V. was on a different channel than when she left but she figured she had just hit a button on the remote when she got up. Her snack made her sleepy so she decided to take a short nap on the couch. When she woke up she looked at the clock and it was 11:45 p.m. She decided to get a glass of water from the kitchen and head off to bed. When she got in to the kitchen she noticed the little girl was still standing in the street. She opened the window to ask the little girl why she was outside by herself so late at night but when she did the little girl was gone. She shut the window and there she was again. She slowly turned around to notice the small, pale girl standing in front of her.
