A Frightening Discovery

"Are you serious?! The bathroom's just a drain on the floor with a bucket for a damn sink!" Adam yelled as he walked out of his pathetic excuse for a bathroom. "I've got to get out of this dump right this minute. This is outrageous." Adam stormed back to the living room and picked up his cellphone to call his boss. He dialed the number and hit send, but then an error message appeared on his phone that read no service, try again later."This day couldn't get any worse!" he yelled as he slammed the door behind him as he left his apartment.
Adam got to the end of the dirty, cramped corridor and peered down the seemingly endless steps leading all the way to the ground below. "They seem even worse now that I know what a dump this place is." He took in a good, deep breath and trudged his way down the long flight of stairs. As he finally reached the ground he began to realize how much he dreaded the walk back up to his apartment later. Hopefully he would be able to get some service as he got closer to town. As he was dodging puddles that riddled the small little street, he felt as if someone was watching him. He quickly turned around but to his surprise, no one was there. He just brushed it off as paranoia from being in a new country and turned back to continue his walk. He pulled his phone out to see if he had any service yet, but still none. "Typical," he mumbled sliding his phone back in his pocket. As he continued his walk, he thought he heard footsteps behing him. Not large heavy foot steps, but small almost child like footsteps. He quickly turned and he saw a shadow quickly dash down and alley way. He walked slowly over to the alley and leaned out past the wall to peer down it, but nothing was there. It was a dead end alley with solid brick wall going all the way down both side. "Where the hell could that thing have gone? Oh well I guess, I just need to get out of this place." Adam turned and sped up his pace and told himself that no matter what he had to get to town and get back to his apartment before dark. After what he just saw, even that horrible little place seemed like a safe haven compared to the outside world. Hopefully he would make it in time.
Adam walked for what seemed like a little over an hour and didn't seem to be getting any closer to town. "What is going on? I should be to town by now, Christ! I better just turn around and start to head back it's getting kind of dark." As he turned around he jumped back in astonishment. There was a small girl standing behing him in the alley, she could have been following him the whole time. "Little girl you shouldn't be out here by yourself, especially at this time. What's your name?" The little girl just stood and stared at him blankly. She had greasy, black hair down past her shoulders with grey, cracking skin. Her small black dress was tattered and she wasn't wearring any shoes. The little girl quickly glanced at him, turned and ran down an alley way. Adam quickly dashed after her feeling the need to help the little girl. As he got to the alley, she was gone, but towards the end of the alley, there was a small opening in the bricks. Adam quickly ran to it and looked through, where he saw a bedroom like room through the opening. He was very confused, but even more confused at what he saw inside. He saw the little girl satnding in the far corner, facing the wall with the word "Isabella" scribbeled all over the walls.
