Oh seaside S & M,
shivering and gritted,
the horizon does its best
to raise the aesthetic
but the sexually-diverse windbreaks
and the timid, knee-deep,
gap-toothed pier.
The beach is pistoned
with groyns. Muddledy huts
in aspirational colours.
Saint George on every cap.
Poor horizon,
that's not a seagull.
That's a kite
in the shape of a seagull.
