I am not a worm

I am hopeful.
I am painting my toenails in 'Knockout Red'.
I am making a brooch.
I've got this stuff all over me:
cinnamon toast and my
perfect body oh
I will never be modest again.
Slasher movies. Bears vs Crocs.
Today I can enjoy heavyweight boxing:
I have rattled the presents under a Christmas tree;
these men know the weight of their own brains;
they have forgotten hours
in the pursuit of seconds.
I am hopeful. Tommorow depends on nothing.

Let me drift sideways,
for a moment, blind
and with neither coordination
or balance, let me crawl
but have no idea that I am crawling.
