Realisation

The shock was like a physical slap -
Memories began to flap -
Shaken loose in dark recesses;
Unbearable dìstresses
Unknown to the mind,
Long left behind
In different boxes.

I felt the earthquake
Reverberate
In me.
I felt it cry out
With a shout
So loud -
It was silent.
