She was cold and she was tired
She'd seen it all and she'd walked for miles in those shoes
But everybody looked right through her
Afraid that they might see
Truth in her atrocity
She'd been told that through a fire
She'd hear a call
And they talked of trials to confuse
And possibly undo her but
Surviving, she would be
Rewarded for her ferocity
Bring back my love and I'll spare you
bring back my love
bring back my love and I'll go
Through the woods of tangled trees
Over bridges across wild streams
She went on
As if it was nothing to her
She knew it was her destiny
It burned in her incessantly
On a mountain, she met the man
This wizard for whom this journey began
months ago
He'd been waiting for her
He'd seen her in a premonition
Now here she was like an apparition
Bring back my love and I'll spare you
bring back my love
bring back my love and I'll go
She broke a deal that she would have
Her beauty and youth and something far greater than that
Her murdered love back from the dead
In his most vivid form
Handsome face and a heart so warm
The sorcerer would see it through
If she agreed to what she should do in return
He wanted to abuse her
She'd be at his beck and call
For all his desires large or small
He called on the spirits
To make her young
and make her whole
make her free
and make her fearless
make her young
and make her whole
make her free
and make her fearless
And bring her back her true love
But how the tables turn when you're winning
Now that
She had her love in her arms
For twenty days and twenty nights
She was beautiful and free
Her true love had returned to her
And they made plans to marry
On her wedding day
She was beckoned by the man
And knew she had to leave and go
Back to where she had begun
Back to when there was no sun
Back to darkness and cold rain
Back to all the suffering
Back to her sad old refrain
Bring back my love and I'll spare you
bring back my love
bring back my love and I'll go
But this wizard had been tricked
And in bringing back her man
He had undone a spell
And she was more powerful than
He could handle
And with one swipe of her hand
and a cursory glance
This wizard became a bear
And for her, he would dance
