The Hall Rug

Has rebellious life
perhaps it hates being neutral
welcoming ,or resents mud
it slides on a film of invisible ants
who want to move the props
like little stage hands
it wants to fly back to tropical roots
unweave deconstruct
re tree
like a lonely African Grey
wanting to flock
it cosies up to one wall
whenever our backs are turned
legs up it like a horny pup
a purebred coir
or perhaps when we are out
the house drops a hip
tired of decent posture
it scratches,has a fag
uncovers carpet stains
and all the rugs slide
to the left
