Insects

Are we trying to rival insects?
consuming food like locust swarms
ants making
little piles of sand
where there was good dark earth

relying on the brilliance of the hive
to save us from our heaving mass
Gaia has made smoke and we are drowsy
with science and religion

not challenging the instruction to
multiply

If we don't stop the increase
of our wriggling selves
nature will nurture herself not us
and we won't like it
