I imagine your smile,
as I try to amuse.
The truth of me
hidden and suffocated
deep inside.
Visible, only through my eyes.
And no-one sees
That
I dwell in silence
as you recount your day.
And pain smothers
the ecstasy of you.
Endlessly your fingers gently tap.
You do not see
That
Each day brings me nearer
I glance in despair as
he stirs his coffee
just once too often.
I retreat a little further
he does not see
that I am not here.
