Fame

Falling into nothing,
Never far from something,
Together as none,
Alone as hundreds.
Nothing left alone,
No one wants to know
I’m trapped,
Lost,
No words left to describe it.
I’m somewhere,
In fact I’m everywhere,
In your homes,
On your walls,
In your eyes
And in your dreams.
Blinding lights flash at me
As I pick up this weeks meals
Then you watch and think
“You make me sick,”
“Oh my God, I like the blues ones to!”
It seems a man can’t walk the streets
Without the world knowing he’s left his
Prison,
His fortress of loneliness,
His lonely
And empty
Life.
The world must know what
Clothes I wear,
What meals I eat,
What shampoo I use,
It’s like I’m a God,
Just destined to be one
Not chosen.
The simple life,
A dread to them,
A bore,
They want fame,
They want fortune,
I want a family.
I want a daughter who will be brought up in a world
That’s not corrupted by men and their desires
That’s not following one mans life
Step by every little step.
I want to name her something
That other parents won’t copy
I want her to be unique
An individual,
Something robbed from me,
When I see someone down the road
Dressed like me,
Walking like me,
Trying to be me.
There’s a reason we’re called stars,
We’re alone.
Each one of different sizes,
Each one a light against the darkness,
Huge,
All known
But always alone.
