I arrived at the airport after a very hectic flight,air combustion which had thrown the packages and parcels about, people crying and hanging onto the pulleys. Clothes were hanging up torn, buttons ripped off. trays and food scattered on the floor, toilet rolls unwinding pilots shaking in the control room, turbulence they said. Finally the plane touched down safely, but into a sand storm blowing my purple dress and hat down the runway. The taxi ordered pulled up the tyre burst not! getting that one I thought So I made my way to the cafe, waiting my friend to arrive, my shoes full of sand, and hair style had gone to pieces from a chignon when my friend Pearl came she had her umbrella blown inside out! and her red lipstick in her makeup bag squashed. We freshened up got taxi to our hotel at reception we had a cocktail a pink frothy mixture plus cherries" on top topped with cream, think it was called Dreamboat. Down in one "Pearl said it will bolster us up. My friend looked as if she had come through a hedge backwards it!s saying! she was tottering about in high heel shoes, kilt lemon blouse, and a yellow roll neck jumper the sand was all in.
We wanted a pet shop as Pearl promised to buy me a pink poodle and I was getting her a parrot she always wanted we found the shop and I chose the pink poodle with her, and parrot he had large beak. and big brown golden eyes, green feathers he was was talking "hello my sweet" Tommy said.
We stayed in the hotel for a week longing to get on the flight home when we packed ordered the taxi for airport, 1st put the cage in the boot and the poodle by my side, the clock meter ticking over "£30 already. We boarded the plane but the parrot noise of the engine kep squawking" had upset set Tommy, he was shouting "shut up be quiet" Pearl and felt so embarrassed. We belted up seat belts took out little postcard exhausted just said Hello dear friends and family bad flight, bought pets squawking here a picture of Spinx see you all soon love Pearl and Kate. xx It was my 1st flight to?

You made me smile with this one, Cavalcaderl;-) I have never been to Egypt, but I remember my first flight ever...to Corfu, in the early seventies with my husband, my aunt and two children under three years old. We left Luton Airport at nine o'clock in the morning, to finally arrive in Corfu at six o'clock, tea-time, the following day, after having spent the night in the then, Yugoslavia. Having said that, I didn't really mind. We had flown through the worst storm imaginable the day before and with our plane severely damaged, I felt lucky to be alive... and my two daughters made me see what is important in life. Enjoyed your story no end;-) Tina

Hello! Silver Spun Sand Thankyou so much comment. I know what you mean I would nevr fly, hubby says like sitting in an armchair you feel nothing. Only time I kind flew, as child I was looking over bannisters and went top to bottom big family out at shop, and they calling through letter box quite funny really. Well if my kind poems or stories make some one smile or fun, or of love it maybe message to them. Like one titled "Finger Points" is Mouse Im using.We worried daughter and hubby went to Thailand flight delayed, had to pray. insertponceyfre thankyou and Jennifer and others comments. no I made it up re cocktail mix. well I was good at spelling But never all this punctuation just entered comp; and popped in lines "Red Dress "and "Park Bench." Then thought put on what collected from writing group homeless, not my computer so must read others works we have names, pictures words, put into poet line or story etc.some go in the big issue. I PAID CO. FOR 3 in books BUT RACKET PAY EACH TIME, to expensive do 3 they keep to and choose one.comments coming in and Jennifer and all many thanks.x julie .cavalcader is what I did late Mum got me in she wAS 80 as extral AT tHEATRE rOYAL. I like the way you make yourself a character in this fictional story and it really works, thanks mainly to the fact that you are genuinely an interesting, colourful person. I thought this was a good piece of humorous writing and all the detail you put in made it very believable (I had to check to see whether it was one of your autobiographical pieces). Altogether, a very enjoyable read.

new well-wisher Hello! Wow! what a great comment, coming from a good write like you are. No it was basically made up! from things in life, "Pink Poodle" I have one bit fun! Rock and roll times,of ebay as a light shoulder bag. And pictures from a grand book, when "Borders Brighton" open called "Sacred Places" £20 fab; colours and pictures and countries in, henominal. Met Author and buy, few of us did,shop come library and coffe part. Author "Philip Cargomm" ythink spelt right, can still buy ebay! My goodness! me you are so wrong, about colour,it's all come by joining things,church then. Onto day centre writing! Closed all did all kind things young and old. We did, or like your last poem,just read,putting the mind and joining, we can expand in all we do to all,but AbcTales I read there's gives me ideas and inspiration of all. Can't do somethings,punctuation etc; just got over big big mechanical shop fall,so had break! for four weeks. We only ever wore most,blacks and browns church,morbid,so now use colour nail varnish,daughter puts it on,bit of cheap bling1 rings bingo! most say like the match! I think grow up,but someone somewhere like what ever I do so strange!
