Our daughter's wedding day was near, three of us
her dad and I just popped into the shop, but there was a neighbour from up the road and we had mentioned we were going to look at wedding dresses
soon, great I thought nice all to go but neighbour said "I have a wedding dress indoors
for sale but I thought to myself, why! would she have a wedding dress, so I said to hubby I am just going to pop up the road to look at it as neighbour said come and see.
I was taken to her bedroom whereupon she opened the wardrobe door and she took out the wedding dress my eyes were wide! open and sparkling aghast!the most beautiful wedding dress I have ever seen!
it was white full length with lowish neckline with roses on each shoulder the back.
The bodice was full of beads glittering with drop pearls hanging down a full petticoat around the base more roses. So I carried it very carefully home, it looked brand new it was 2nd hand very reasonable I got the daughter just to look as here but she had said "try it on Mum " Oh! no it looked huge it was !so I got her try it but she said "to big and made her look like a sugar plumb fairy." But I knew I had to have it even if I bought it out my pension but hubby got it for me as 10 years younger! and I said I will buy it if you don't, I thought as in our
days I only had a coat dress white lace effect and
white hat etc; and a registry wedding, maybe he
would consent to taking church vows in church first time as I always wanted a church wedding.I was very happy even though then the baby was 15 months old. No! hubby wouldn't take vows in a church he said. What? could I do with it then, we had a solicitor over few things bits and pieces and toys I made but most i'd given away so asked the solicitor could I put it in as final wish to be buried in whatever yes! he said but the solicitor moved and died unfortunately, I had kept it 7 years and covered up. I saw in the paper a local charity shop called "Spiral" wanted things money went for disabled and difficult learning outings, and sports etc: money goes to takes anything so I decided to take it along to them they were thrilled! It was a very good cause. But the twist was neighbour's name! not here as long as some have been had same name as a male friend I knew way back a great friend many years he was the same surname name seemed to follow me in moving sometimes around and I told tale! to her she was amazed! well she said you were meant to have it. So I wrote and told her sadly I had given it away as now she moved the wedding dress gone to a good cause etc: but the daughter on her day doesn't usually like frilly things but her's was the replica! of the dress I once obtained and she looked fantastic on her wedding day of course and hottest day of the year then. But I still remember that wedding dress and even took photo of it earlier, maybe it's gone to someone who dress makes and could make it into their size. Would look a absolute dream in it, and has made money for "Spiral Charity shop.
