Violin memories (A Swedish Waltz)

Fragments, on an old tape - that nameless tune.
I imagine your young fingers on the strings,
Your earnest face, still smooth,
The way you smiled when you lifted the bow.
And although I have played it often
And clumsily I have damaged it,
It sings to me yet,
of youth and beauty and you.
