Almost the worst thing
A face that no longer speaks
Warfarin and medical wattle
One that makes you weep
Sloshing around is somebody
No need for an eulogy
Like the tail of a long dark star
You travelled far
You laughed, screwed, fucked around
You were real
So long ago
Now it’s another flickering show
Left behind with unsweetend tea
An unread borrowed book
No one left to take a last look.

A flickering show, sad but
A flickering show, sad but the present is passing, speeding up. Shame the book was never read.

A sad reminder of our demise,
A sad reminder of our demise, but well described and certainly makes us think of the end. There is never enough time!

You were real
You were real
So long ago
Memories of those who have passed, or even of the long lost living. Those words ring true for them all. The people may be gone but the memories stay.

"No need for an eulogy
"No need for an eulogy
Like the tail of a long dark star.."
An eloquent, poetic elegy but then you are adept at those. Thoughtful and reflective.
An unread borrowed book could be all of our tombstones.
