truth grows teeth

Truth grows teeth
Anger and shame came
You leaving again
Kin and king of what might be mine
Bullied aside as obscene
Luxury we can ill afford
Mourn our fate
Fixed faced
Let isolation spore
No more
Cut backs on human need
Horror of the imagined deed
Sit in silence beneath our clock
Pangs of hunger
Little shocks
No candles, no gas, nowhere to play
Moody silences go our way
Floored and first to drop
Nothing wrong, nothing right
Geography of our night
Fate a lonely atlas
Our flock could not read
Nothing but our greed
Kid torn heart
Whispers of our better part
Things to rescue from our play
Joined together in judgement day
Our sorrow
Our despair
Contemptuous of proper care
Cure for unhappiness in-deed
Slave to baser seed
Grown-ups above us –by and by
Forest of giants signal with sighs
From afar
What would happen if I fall asleep?
Would you weep?
Let’s pretend you’ll not leave.
Let your elbows rest on the table
Mum I’ll be good
Good and good as I’m able
Dressed in good shirt and shoes
Who’s deid?

Powerful and personal, and yet capable of being interpreted in many ways.

celtic - this one made me
celtic - this one made me think (which is no bad thing). Like the curtness of it - suits its content.
