Christmas

It’s Christmas in the centre and
The newly strewn lights
Stare.
Stagnant.

A flicker.
One only lonely star,
Blinks

Amongst the grey,
Is this the only true ode to individualism
In this monotone town?
One star in many,
One star worth following?

Or is it
(like so much else)
Just a little bit broken?
