Lenny Mass's Branhal School Diary - Monday 1 September

Monday 1 September,

This is the first entry in my school diary. Mum told me to keep one because she wanted to read it when I finished my first year. She told me to write in it everyday. I told her nothing exciting will happen everyday.
I was excited to learn I was starting Branhal School For Witches And Wizards, but I'm a little disappointed that I wouldn't be learning magic, like in Harry Potter, just combining it with Maths and Science. Also, unlike Harry Potter, Bran Hal isn't a boarding school, just a day school.
I made a brilliant start by forgetting to set my alarm, missing the bus, and having Mum drive me to school. Good job it's two villages away.
I turned up ten minutes late for the first lesson, (Maths) the teacher (Mrs East) glared at me, and the only seat left was at a table with a pair of twins, who turned out to be very nice, and invited me to sit with them at dinner. They were a brother and sister called Johnny and Wendy. I've made an enemy as well. A girl with blonde hair who sat behind me in Maths, and kicked my chair all the way through the lesson, and looked at me while she was doing it. At one point, Mrs East asked me to demonstrate the sum 10 x 100 by making the right amount of pine cones vanish. As I stood up, the girl kicked my leg hard, making me yell out a bad word. The whole class laughed, and Mrs East sent me out.
Well, that's the highlights of my first day. Most of it was boring. I've got tomorrow to look forward to
