It's been nearly a week since Nettie 'became' Michelle's friend.
Me, Johnny and Wendy tried to find what Michelle could have done. We went to the school library on Wednesday to look for books on spells and potions. But Mrs Nella the librarian told us that first years could only take out certain books. It was our bad luck that the books we wanted were only available to second years and above. The only book we could check out was Basic Spells And Potions. And there was nothing to suggest mind control.
The three of us agreed that we would tell our parents about Nettie, and ask them if there were any mind control spells or potions.
I told Mum that evening. She was appalled and shocked that someone would something like that to a precious thing like Nettie.
"...I mean, I know this Michelle is annoyed she got suspended, but it's entirely her fault. Harming poor Nettie, then making out she didn't do it on purpose..."
"So are there any mind control spells or potions?" I asked, interrupting her.
She looked at me, shocked. "Lenny, you know witches and wizards are born with the knowledge of magic. If you can't think of any, then they don't exist."
The next day, it turned out  the twins got the same response when they asked their parents.
Michelle overheard us talking as she walked by. She smirked. "What's wrong? Still blaming me for Nettie and me being friends?"
I don't know about the twins, but I felt bad about it. We gave up after that. But it upset me to watch Michelle basically treat Nettie like dirt. Wendy grabbed me to stop me from going over when I overheard Michelle call her Dumbo in Geography on Friday.

It was in History earlier that we were given more evidence.
We have History after dinner on Mondays. As me and the twins sat at our seats, we were approached by five boys in our year, Ross, (a different one) Peter, Pete, and the two Adams.
"Don't read this til we're gone," Ross told us, as one of the Adams dropped a piece of paper in front of Johnny.

I'm writing this in the library. It's where we overheard Michelle talking to the librarian, plus we can tell you what she said without her overhearing us talking.
Pete, Peter and the other Adam were confused about the Science homework, so at dinner we headed to the library to work on it together. 
As we walked through the library door, we saw Michelle  standing in the library office. There was no sign of Nettie. The office door was open, and we could hear what was being said.
"Thanks for not letting Lenny and the Reater twins check out Mind Boggling Magic, Mrs Nella."
"That's alright my dear. Are they still snooping?"
"Not that I know of."
"I'd suggest putting them under the spell, but that would arouse suspicion from the rest of your class."
"Yes, I thought that. And thank you for reminding me about the Amnesia spell, I used it on the whole class, plus their parents. When do we do it?"
"Soon. I'll let you know. I suggest you put more pupils in your year under the spell. I also suggest you leave my office before someone comes into the library."
That was when the five of us hastily sat at a table. Ross suggested that we let you know, and I said about writing it down.

I want to write about everything that happened after we read the note, which is why I started as soon as I came home from school. I shall continue after dinner
