Had some homework. Back now.
I looked at the twins when I finished reading the note. I could tell from the way their mouths looked like Os that they were as shocked as I was. I also found the whole thing curious. What was Michelle planning with Mrs Nella, and what did they need with Nettie?
Wendy had finished reading. We waited for Johnny.
"What's that?" Michelle tried to be nosey as she walked past.
"None of your business!" Wendy snapped.
"No need to be rude, Miss Reater!" Mr Fooster called out, as we walked into the classroom. "Apologise to Miss Corner please!"
"Sorry," Wendy said, as Michelle smirked.
It was during the lesson, while Mr Fooster was droning on about Witch Bottles in the seventeenth century, that I was struck with a headache.
It was a sharp pain just above my forehead. I gripped my head, and moaned in pain.
"...Ter...Ead...Ort...Ses...Fiss..." I made out Mr Fooster's voice every now and then
I then felt hands grab me, and I was dragged off. The pain subsided, and I opened my eyes slowly. I realised I was in the History corridor, and that it was Wendy's hands.
"That was weird," I smiled. "I feel better now."
"I'm still taking you to the nurse's office." As Wendy said this, she grabbed hold of her head, and yelled out. I put my arm around her waist, and walked her off, before Mr Fooster came out to see what was going on.
The school nurse, who insisted we call her Sarah, was very concerned that me and Wendy both had a headache at the same time. She told us to sit in her office, and wait for the lesson to finish. As it was the last one of the day, Sarah didn't see any point in phoning our parents to ask them to pick us up.
We were joined five minutes later by the Adam who had written the note, escorted by the other Adam, and Johnny, escorted by Ross. (The one who hung around with Craig and Matthew.)
Ross and the other Adam were told by Sarah to go back to class.
We all sat there in silence. I closed my eyes, and thought how it was weird that all four of us were connected to the note. Adam had written it; me and the twins had read it. Suddenly, the word Aisenma sprang into my mind.
I opened my eyes, and looked at everyone.
"What's ay-sen-ma?" Wendy asked.
"It's amnesia spelled backwards," Adam answered.
"Why is it only us four who got headaches?" Johnny frowned.
"It's to do with that note," I replied. "Adam, when you wrote that note, did you read it out to your friends?"
Adam shook his head. "No. They were all busy with the Science homework. I didn't have time."
"That's why they didn't get headaches. Adam, you wrote the note. Johnny, Wendy, us three read it."
"But that still doesn't explain how we got pains because of a note," Johnny insisted.
"I'm thinking," I replied. "I think the note somehow worked like a spell. We read it, and got our memory back - that was the pain. I think Aisenma means something. A spell. A memory spell."
I had no idea where I getting all this from, but it was like it was coming back from somewhere. It was at that moment that I thought:Litomoricadin.
"Makes sense," Wendy was saying. "I mean, if ay-sen-ma is amnesia spelled backwards...What's lit-o-mo-ri-cad-in?"
But before anyone could answer, Sarah came back into the office.
"The school buses have arrived, I'll take you out to them, so you can get on them early."
When I got home, I asked Mum what Litomoricadin was. She frowned, and asked how could I not know what it was, which didn't really answer my question.
Looks like me and the twins will be sneaking into the school library when Mrs Nella's not there.
Goodnight,
Lenny
