Sunday 7 December
11:00 AM
I followed Wendy to her living room.
"Hi, Len," Johnny and Nettie chorused.
"Guess who Lenny saw outside?"
"Harry Potter?" Johnny sniggered.
"No, you numpty. Michelle."
"Nettie squeaked.
Johnny looked at me. "Did she say anything exciting?"
"Well, apparently she misses me. Plus, it's our fault she got expelled."
"Sounds about right."
I noticed the book in Johnny's lap. "I see you've made a start already."
Johnny nodded. "We've been looking up spells that cause illnesses," he nodded in Nettie's direction. "Like chickenpox."
"Find anything?" I asked, as me and Wendy sat.
He opened the book, and flicked through it.
"Here. Curse illnesses. Basically, you say the name of the illness, like chickenpox, flu, or just a head or stomach ache. Then you say who you want to get the illness, then when they catch it. Then the words: Senli Lisen."
"So basically, our new teachers would have said: Chickenpox, our names. If we tried to tell our parents about our new teachers. Then Senli Lisen," Wendy frowned. "That can't be right. They would have to say every pupil in the school. Five years, with, what, thirty or forty kids in each one?"
Johnny flicked through til he got to the back of the book. "There's probably a way they did it on a massive scale. You know, so they didn't have to say every single kids' name."
After a few minutes: "I can't find anything."
Wendy frowned. "Maybe they did say every single kids' name."
"What about spells to make you dizzy or faint?" I asked. "Our usual teachers must have had a curse placed on them."
"Oh, the "Sleeping Beauty" curse?" Nettie asked.
We all looked at her. She blushed; realising the attention was on her.
"Sorry. I was watching the Disney film last night. And it reminded me of what had happened to the Branhals and the others."
Wendy smiled. "That's a good point. Johnny, see if you can find the "Sleeping Beauty" curse."
Johnny stared at his sister. "Is it actually called that?" He asked, sarcastically.
"Ha ha."
I'm going to stop here and attempt my Science homework. I will carry on after I've finished.
