Bright Pain

Working my ass off, the current project manages to advance a little, a highly mobile aircraft.
My only real reason for working so hard was to get to home early and hopefully have again that dream about the pink haired girls singing. While the gun I saw in that dream scared me I was decided to try and speak with these girls, who were they? What place is that? among other questions but in four weeks I haven’t had the luck of having that dream again.
I was starting to slowly forget about that wonderful dream.
The it hit me, literally, I was driving on my way home when I got hit by a truck, luckily by the other side of the car. While I was at the ambulance, I heard a couple of people talking about how the truck driver made a run for it on his own. Apparently, the truck had absolutely no cargo. Which only made my assistant that came to take care of me while these mild injuries healed get more and more preoccupied.
I arrived home with a couple bruises and a damaged car.
Tired, I decided to go to sleep... this time when I had almost forgotten about these girls in my dreams, I saw them again as I slowly and inevitably fell asleep, those shinning bright pink eyes.
Next thing I know I’m back again at that landscape, that giant light filled city that had a skyscraper with a crystal shaped structure atop it, all of this across a lake which reflected the night sky.
Once more mesmerized by the lights and the music that sounded like a melancholic plea but not only for help but for hope as well.
For a second, I manage to snap out of it and by mere instinct drop the gun I knew I held in one of my hands. Feeling like a whole new me I looked towards the side to see if there was one of the girls from previous times.
There she was, another girl? I had my doubts, she looked a lot like the first one, but grown up. This girl also had pink hair, but a more cream pink than the first one’s bright and the second’s one clearer shade of pink. Also, her hair was waist long, far longer than the first two and had a big pale purple hair bow. Her attire was quite interesting, a black and red patterned short dress which felt more like a uniform rather than a fashion item.
She was still looking at the city and while holding myself from looking at the lights again I slowly made my way towards her.
Step by step, something inside of me started to erupt, something cold from the very center of my heart...
Fear.
Of what? I had just dropped the gun and the last girl didn’t saw me as an enemy after that.
I somehow managed to power through it and reached the girl, trying to catch her attention I noticed that she was singing, I could not understand the song or even hear her words for that matter but I could feel the emotions on it.
When the music stopped and she sang the last verse on this song that could only be described as bright, she finally noticed me.
I was holding her hand to get her to notice me all this time and she didn’t seem mind that I was still holding her. She didn’t look scared or confused, instead she just smiled at me. Like an explosion, the cold fear that had been building up inside of me disappeared and replaced with a gentle warmth.
I thought that’ll be the end of the dream. I fell to my knees and braced myself for going back at my ‘reality’. I was wrong. The dream continued. Then out of nowhere, an explosion, a real one, in the middle of the sky?
