She danced around me
Spelling temptation with her toes,
Daring me to place
My fingers in the fire.
The smell of her perfume
Led to the path of my youth
And her skin tasted
Of freedom, long forgot.
To leave myself inside her
Was to leave behind all
Restraints.
Her confidence
Would have pulled me
From a life I knew,
Yet for a second I took her
Head between my hands
Looked in her eyes,
Destined to lead a thousand
Others astray,
And saw the little girl lost,
Clinging to me
As if I knew the way.
