On the way to the garden...

It was once told
That from Adam's rib
Eve was created.
A child in her naivet? accepts
Without questions the truth behind
This tale.
But, as the child grows cynicism divides
Myth and the Word
Eve is pushed further from Adam's rib.
And with this tale so innocent wander begins to die,
Carrying the child on a journey of
Searching outside the walls
Eating each forbidden fruit with less trepidation
Than the last,
And hiding her nakedness in the
Damp grass filled with sweet tongued serpents.
Then this child falls in love
Far from the garden of Eden
In love this child regains her state of wonder
And dislodges the cynicism clouding
Myth and the Word,
In the sudden physicalisation
Of the tale, proving that
Two bodies can fit together as
Perfectly as one
So that the child can
Believe, from Adam's rib was taken Eve,
Just as in his soul her heart breathes.
