Life is a grenade
That can have its pin pulled by time
Or have its pin pulled by others
It’s explosion, the most powerful of all
Hurting the ones that love you in collateral damage
Leaving it’s shrapnel embedded in their hearts
That at first feels painful, but in time,
Comforting

A cruel but very effective image.

Not a very nice way of looking at things. Maybe it is like this I'm not to say. Especially the shrapnel part for the wounds with time to become comforting, that is hard eventually becoming numb to your pain.
