Carved in enriched ivory
from the billowing arid Africa
branded golden chalices
sorely sought from utopian China
attained from dangerous travels
uncharted desolate plains
jewels that I cart from town to city patiently calling
to aristocrats and citizens
steeped in mythological inscribed culture.
Knotted hands which crafted
beautiful wonderous arts
my brow always soaked in painstaking pearled sweat
enthroned upon a ramshackled cart notched wealthily
my designed gifted rarities passed down from one generation
to another
tradition immortal
for each craft solemly tells an unforgettable tale.
