Longest Nights

Those longest and strangest of nights when the sky streaks with stars,
in the dull quiet of pedestrians searching for hope,
needful company longing for a chance to beleive oneself,
time loses a frustrated meaning after darkness shrouds the streets.
Dusks demanding whistling call to aimessly seek solace,
in the arms of a woman clad in naked stars of stones,
my random perspective staring at the coldest concrete,
the humming of factories puffing obnoxious poison,
the veins of gutters carved in every corner and alley.
Life never ceasing to move in sinless symphony,
windows of dim light flaring up within falsified billboards,
metallic taste of newly forged steel in packed factories,
daylight ends my longest night begins to gently provide for my family.
