Here's a short hint to anyone who wants to make a solid, all around awesome character. Grab a pen and paper, a recorder, or something you would usually use for an interview and have a conversation with them OUTSIDE your mind. For example, write a list of questions such as name, occupation, and most importantly the rules of all reporters: 1. Who 2. What 3. When 4.Why. Make sure you treat your character like its a celebrity because anyone who interviews an average Joe of a guy will obviously make you bored and fall asleep instantly, make him/her special in every way possible! First, you talk uninterrupted if possible and then speak as if it is coming from the mouth of the character itself, a personal conversation that is very deep and passionate. Get to know your characters like that person is family or someone vital to your existence and you cant go wrong from there. Another pointer, make sure your characters follow in the photo negative spectrum, if one character is this the opposite must follow with the others. Cloning sucks and will kill your story, remember that always. Diversity and detail is key to creating a living and breathing character who will fly right off the page and screaming straight into the reality of our minds. Best of luck writing friends!
