Arising in the night and in spite of her spite gave the poor hound a second chance. Bright vivid sunshine filled every last corner of the cavernous box room, some corners felt the warmth later than others but no one could prove it so all forgot and enjoyed the dancing Minbles highlighted by small pens and torches. Gushing love flowed from the shower head and danced its way through and around bubbles and towards hair and drain carrying old friends of dirt and decay.
The horizon raced to meet the eye as it flicked across from car park to shaded points beneath green and ornamental trees. A wording began behind the head and a quick flick of the hair and turn of the neck revealed a mouth, nose and eyes in all the right places to make a face. Words crept softly over the early morning air to depart a certain kind of knowledge only age can bestow. Keeping in mind the words, the car keys were pocked at a speed unknown and not described in any journal. Trudging with a spring in her spine, slack knees a wonderment of the eyes and change in her back pocket a march was made to the shops.
The walnut wallpaper glistened in the lunchtime sun, all who noticed it, and it was hard to see, would comment on is glimmer. How well you arranged your clothing and hair today to pick up on the paper over there. You look so special in your robes of finery and delight. Happy happy was the creator of the paper for he had just been given a bowl of fruit and nuts to eat and play. As the comments manoeuvred through the busy air, a jingling of keys was heard and dismissed by low loving feeble minded rodents of lesser lives. The keys made there way up passed the wallpaper and around the corner to the next corner where a shop weighed down by its own weight and splendour offered bountiful treats to all who braved the aching pillars and saw roof. Abundant were the shelves and spruce the attendant but strangely lacking were the customers and so short on produce was the shop owner.
Amongst the spacious floor, tiles kept shoes from hard stone and boxes provided homes for stray cats and dogs. High in the straining roof space a pair of menacing eyes spied round corners and over piles of stuff and things that had be discarded over years of misplaced forgetfulness and thievery. The eyes darted back and forth, scurrying from corner to corner in an attempt to capture a sight of the face of the newest entrant to the shop. For believing every angle of the premises was covered the eyes had began creating sleeping arraignments for it and kin. The oversight it seemed had awoken a moment of flitting fury and rage. Like a fire cracker stuck to a rocket round the bend and stuck in a drain pipe a small explosion was heard and forgotten about. Calm now the eyes decided to move closer to take a look in the real light of day and sky.
The sky had carried the sunlight all the way into the shop through windows and past curtains illuminating the faces of many a disappointed shopper and drawing attention to the mounds of dust and fur collecting freely in the corners and unchecked moments of forgetfulness. The shop keeper had been taking notes for years now on future purchases but failing to find the phone in the vastness of the building gave up and continued to take notes on the shortcomings of the store he presided over. There were gems however if you knew where and how to look. Round unseen corners, over steps under the normal roots of massive trees searching to find water and birds to sleep in the upper reaches of their clammy green hands. In and among the stairs and roots two peeping eyes shone out with burning malice. Around the next corner was the faceless lady who plagued his irrelevant mind with thoughts of filth and wrong doing.
Spots and sparkles began to creep across the vision of the shady darks as anticipation overtook thought and forced bad moves, for thought was not an easy thing to tame in the upper reaches of descending foolishness. As the faceless wonderment moved its way over the sparkly rotten floor a sense of elation entered her stride and as soon as she was there she had departed again. Plagued with disease, words flew forth from filth and intoxication who sat upon the shoulder of the creepers peepers as they watched there quarry shrink into forever away in the distance.
