swim out
let the warm fuzzy water,
blue like your duvet,
envelop you,
warm your cheeks
you can see,
but you can't speak,
and all sound
is muted
muffled images
shine in sunlight,
reflections of a world
far far away
and drifting farther
as you fall
faster
faster
deep
deep
down
where light fades
to sweet blessed blackness.
silence.
you might drown down here.
But then -
pulled up
rushing waters
laughing
racing
running
you break water's skin
gasp in raw air
and lie,
floating awhile,
as the day comes into focus,
and you
are washed quietly
to shore
