"My favourite is Marlboro, have you tried before?" asked father suddenly, as he took his pouch of tobacco from a jacket pocket. I replied that I had indeed tried it, to which father retorted "I should hope you haven't been smoking, if you have been, I'd have to stop talking to you out of disappointment." I replied that I hadn't knowing full well that I enjoy a cigarette now and then- my favourite being American Spirit over Marlboro.
I found myself very disappointed with my fathers reply. How could someone whom after 15 years of not smoking for the sake of his children suddenly start again, then threaten me with such disappointment.
Ludicrous I thought.
