Betrayal

She had loved him dearly, through married life,
He betrayed that love, and caused her strife.

All neighbours knew of his lies and deceit,
To the wife, who so humble, had sat at his feet.

Now riled, and fired, by anonymous letter,
The wife planned revenge, to make life better.

The extra hours of 'work' he attend-ed,
She said, would very soon be amend-ed.

After coming home, very late one night,
Against her advances he strongly did fight.

"I only need sleep," he continued to wail,
So she took up a knife, and cut off his tail!
