Silent Approval

Silent Appraisal.
I know not how to put my thoughts to word,
If,if,if, my telepathic message could be heard
What holds my tongue, when I should vent my praise.
To just say 'Thank you', would be so apt a phrase.
T'would be to my wife this message I should give.
She tends my daily wants with patient charm,
And warns against the dangers which will harm.
She cleans, she irons, and works with selfless zeal
And leaves me never wanting for a hearty meal.
The mind is willing, but my lips they cannot be telling.
Why? tell me why? I cannot say, (rarely would suffice),
"Thank you darling, for what your unstinting, daily sacrifice
does, to aid the smooth running of my working day".
Without her deft attention my plans in ruins, they would lay.
But believe me, without her interfering, much happier would I live!
