Extended Metaphor

Imagine you break a bone.
You ignore the said bone, writing it off as just a severe bruise.
It does not heal properly, but nonetheless it heals.
It heals, but for the rest of your life it pains you.
Pains you on rainy days when you are cold and lonely.
For the rest of your life
you deal with this pain.
This ache.
