I'm country longing.
Longing to go back to where I spent my happiest first years, perfectly content.
I'm country longing.
Longing to go back to the old ivy clenched tumbledown cottage, happily living.
I'm country longing.
Longing to go back to my attic bedroom, where the black spiders were my good, good friends.
I'm country longing.
Longing to play another shrill tune on the creaky floorboards which were my instruments.
Yes, I'm country longing.

I'm longing for your next poem cloudy!
This is another very good piece of writing. I especially love the bit about the spiders and the floorboards as your instruments. The image of the ivy clenching the old cottage is absolutely delightful too.
Keep going.

I agree with scratch. The imagery here is pleasantly created and with attention to sensory detail. Well done! :)

Enjoyed, thanks. Interesting insights on childhood thoughts too. That kind of longing in Welsh is called 'hiraeth'. Rhiannon
