when these sour days are ended
 
we who have met,
but fleetingly,
and are kept apart
will meet
we who dare not speak of love
forged in late night calls
and pillow dreams
will love
we who have never wept for joy
will shed tears
even as we smile
we who have never embraced
will dissolve
in warm embracing
 
and we will know
the truth
we already know.
