Battles of sex and battles of race
So many different thoughts, different goals
And in the end, we're all the same face
For what we forget, be we young or old
Be we gay or straight, or in between
Is that there's more that unites us
As one people, as human beings
It is us and us alone that divides us
Into boxes and groups and classes and castes
But we all live together and die together
Our invisible walls are things that never last
Because no matter what we say is forever
Forever is only eighty years at best
And I can't help but feel with our time in this place
There are better things in which to invest
Than battles of sex and battles of race.
