Let there be another world

I left home years ago,
took a ferry south from Dover to Calais,
ended up in Paris
doing some thinking
and some writing.

The warmer weather suited me well.
I could let dry my sweater,
snap close my umbrella,
store away my rainning boots.
Somedays you can catch me sunbathing on the grass in Luxembourg.

I left home to escape nobility
& conservatist thought,
and the ever oh so pervading lust for money.
London is all about the big big bucks,
my gringo girlfriend once said.
And the USA? I asked in shock.
The same the same, but opposition is just stronger. (Check out all the hippie-anarcho communes in Oregon and California)

Back in France
I experienced the joie de vivre.
The french are not all about the money but more about the bread.
Is it good bread you have got there?
Oh yes, oui oui.
And about the wine.
And fresh fruits,
and stinking cheeses
and the chocolat.
Oh lala le chocolat.(Belgians are the same)

But here too I felt what I had escaped.
The lust for gold
and big business
and of being masters of the world.

President (soon will be gone, let us hope) Nicolas Sarkozy
is the spearheaded french that embodies this.
With him, it is all about the money
more money,
the bling bling, (french stole hiphop!)
and the topmodel as trophy wife,
le macho.

Sarko is all about the money, oh sure he is, envying Clinton's a milli a pop speech-fee.
Après la presidence je me fairai de tas de fric!
he once said, only to forget it like thirty seconds after when confronted by a journalist.

Sarko is all about the money, like Cameron and Osborno and Murdoch and Bush and Putin.
But he wants to be bigger than his cronies (he really wants, he even tiptoes his way in pictures!)
So he adds to this crazy equation big old FEAR.

Fear of the immigrant,
pinpointing the arab (like EDL and BNP, or Breivik for God's sake),
hating africans
and latinos (wants to compete with NRA and the xenophobic tea party).
Fearing intellectuals because they are smarter.
Fearing germans (because they are tougher and like discipline and hard work).
Hating everyone who does not like him.

I will say no more cause I am getting angry and I do not want to bore you all.
But trust me,
this guy do not knows what it is to love.

Can not another world come true?

Think about it
and pray the french to lead the way.
Big election day is just days away.
