The Territory Wars – Precursor to a Cause
The first major event and official start recorded history. Initiated by the rapid expansion and greed of Lord Francis Bastros, eldest son and inheritor of the Bastros Trading Company (BTC).
At 18 (1478AN), a young Francis Bastros & his father started taking steps to solidify the early Transcontinental Trade Routes(TTR) unifying much of the continent under a stamped bone-coin currency. A mere 13 years later (31y/o – 1491AN) Francis took over the BTC and the title of Lord as his ailing father began to lose his grip on reality. A brain disease that would prove to be hereditary.
For the next decade Bastros (41 y/o – 1501) tirelessly built his father’s legacy into a colossal force, making Peak View Junction a cornerstone in the success of the northwest. Thanks to the BTC, the north-western corner of The Continent had the worlds first, trained, standing army under the guise of protecting the TTC. No one can be sure how long Lord Bastros had been planning his next move but one thing history shows us is certain, Lord Bastros’ grasp on reality was beginning to slip. Just as his father’s did before him. Fearing the inevitable and desperate to continue his father’s legacy, the former boy genius was starting down a different path. A path that would lead him to go down in history as The Mad King Bastros.
