Henry VIII : Tyrantosaurus Rex : An Exceedingly Short Novel By Mr Alfred N.Muggins

 

     Henry VIII, Tyrantosaurus Rex went on the rampage, devouring maidens and wives, and rooting out rotten ministers, creating division and forcing his minions to compete for his attention. To the best servants or ministers he gave the best Castles and Houses, the best titles and lands, but he could just as well take away as give!

 

     He went on rampages, particularly in the North, where the Pilgrimage of Grace and the Catholic rebellions made the people fair game for his dinosaur games. He turned into a dinosaur occasionally, with a very thick skin, and did not care about his people when it happened.

 

     At such times he turned into a very nasty and sometimes very grumpy dinosaur. It made him feel like a dragon, but of course, whereas dragons were not real, dinosaurs had been once upon a time, and could be again!

It occurred to me that this representation of Auld King Henry as a dinosaur on the rampage, would be remarkably apt as a representation of Vladimir Plutinpot on his current rampage through erstwhile peaceful Ukraine. He has already laid waste to large areas, caused many democratic citizens to flee, despoiled their homes, and brutally killed many perfectly peaceful citizens, including many children. He has thus proved that he is far from being a kindly Santa Claus figure, but rather one who is driven by petty hatreds and cruelties to bring vengeance upon a large land, which he does not even yet rule!

 

I am reminded that Tyrantosaurus Rex does not just belong in ancient histories, but is walking tall and proud, even in the Modern Age, more’s the pity!

Alfred realised the similarities between these two notorious dinosaurs around 7/4/22. The Henry VIII Short Novel has been previously posted on this account on 21st April 2021, about a year ago! How apt!

It's always good to be reminded even the worst tyrant will one day be rex extincti. I got that off Google translate - don't be impressed :0)

Vladimir Plutinpot must have one of the thickest skins known amongst the currently living human race. Most ordinary folks like us would be quite embarassed to be causing so many people so much pain and suffering without good enough reason! To have the eyes of the whole world upon you, criticising and hating you for your crimes, and even praying en masse that you stop the misery, and still being able to carry on with the extremely unpopular death and destruction, must take a remarkably thick skin, and a very strong devil may care attitude. the warlord is amazingly unaffected by popular opinion!

You are right that he cannot possibly live forever. None of the other dinosaurs have survived. (Even Henry VIII only got to 53, and even Joseph Stalin died soon enough of mortal ailments. Let us hope that Putin will be the last of these old totalitarian dinosaurs, and that particular brand of Tyrantosaurus Rex will become rex extincti as soon as possible!

Plutinpot still very much in our thoughts. Interesting that, only the other day, I was talking to someone about Henry VIII and commenting about all the bad things he did and yet he''s considered to be a great king. It's good to see more output from Alfred Muggins even if it is an exceedingly short novel!

I suppose strong monarchs are often respected by history for being strong and creating order. Even Genghis Khan, after many extreme genocides and massacres improved his reputation by creating stability and peace afterwards! And Henry did manage to keep his Tudor House in power over a nation largely at peace and developing in prosperity! Putin did, it seems, create peace and relative order and even prosperity out of the relative chaos of the ex Soviet Union in the 1990s. But the Invasion of Ukraine seems, to most commentators, to have been a step too far, a reckless gamble, from which he shows little sign of retreating from so far!

After creating a few reasonably large articles about Warlord Putin, I suppose Alfred is now releasing a few smaller or lesser pieces on that subject, for the sake of completeness. However the 'normal' (abnormal?) development of Alfred's themes has certainly been interrupted by the horror of Putin's barbaric actions, which have rather taken over most of Alfred's waking and sleeping thoughts at present! (Alfred is thinking of adding his distress and the suspension of his normal programmes to the long list of Putin's crimes so that one day he (and the Russian State and Oligarchy) can be rightfully sued for all the damages and reparations caused by Plutinpot's horrific and grossly undemocratic actions!)
