fair enough to say that she

from a long time ago, had better music taste---

she did,

she was listening to bands that you find cool now,

before they had even registered on the map &

that says a lot---

it says more than the fact that she just took the time to

look for better bands,

it says more than the fact that she was smart,

that she was hip,

that she was the shit---

it says, in retrospect,

that she might have been

just too much for you &

that frightens the half of a person that you’ve begun to

realize

that you just might be---

this fact, however,

angers &

anger is the best ambition inducer---

anger keeps the heart beating---

anger reminds one of just how much

destruction

that one is capable of---

yes, it keeps one in check &

it can improve upon the wretched,

those of us who start to believe

just what the rest of em’ say we are.

so, she had better music taste---

as high as she has climbed,

you know that she could never know

how to fall so far &

from the bottom you know

that this will always be her biggest fear &

you have already conquered it.
