Today I forgot my PIN number.
I think it's all the contactless there is now.
How easy it is to go without
needing to say hello
or reply. Or touch.
Flapping the wings of my mind
but going nowhere as, ears sharp, eyes boring
at my back I felt a queue
accumulate
till I fled before I used my last attempt
and my card got cancelled.
Went home like a butterfly searching for nectar
after the first frost

Quite a lot of funny twists
Quite a lot of funny twists there! Were you left much inconvenienced and as hungry as the butterfly?
I've tended to keep clear of contactless, but I know I forget passwords if I'm not asked for them for some time. Different checkouts seem to have different number pads which can confuse I find. Rhiannon

I refused to use contactless
I refused to use contactless for ages precisely because I was afraid I'd forget my PIN if I didn't use it! I've succumbed now, the lure of a quick swipe across a screen finally got to me. I find I'm perfectly fine with the PIN as long as I just do it automatically. If I stop to think about it for a minute, whether that digit actually comes before or after another digit, I'm sunk. None of it seems right. I do use different passwords for different things, and I keep reminders for them, carefully coded so no-one knows which password is for what. Including me.
