Under the Tree is clever. I
Under the Tree is clever. I wouldn’t have thought of that though, from some of the festive season revellers I have known, I might have gone for Under the Table.
And your line …
gives small creatures cover …
Are all trees and all small creatures included or have you had to explain to your cat the meaning of the term no go area?
You’re nearing the end of your task but still giving us an entertaining and thought provoking four lines each day. Well done you.

Cat chaos!
Oh, don’t worry. I immediately understood the difference in what you were saying in the two separate two line bits. I certainly think you should leave it as it is. Also, I think we write these things largely for our own amusement and satisfaction so if you were happy with it when you first posted it then you shouldn’t change it for the sake of others. I was just trying to do a funny about your cat taking cover beneath and inside Christmas tree rather than an outdoor real tree and how you yourself might react.
Our new cat has settled in nicely but I suspect that all the others are hoping that, contrary to the words of the Cat Protection League, he really is just for Christmas. He’s very confident and greedy so the big seven, who were all getting along so nicely, feel like they are being pushed out of the way by something that weighs less than a kilogram. I’m sure the chaos will die down before another cat arrives on our doorstep. The weather forecast for the next week or two is fairly good and we don’t feel so emotionally blackmailed when it’s not snowing, so the cat count should stay at round about eight for a wee while yet.
I’ve started work on the poem that you suggested. I’ve taken a little inspiration from Bob Dylan but I think it might be a long haul. I might even throw in a verse for each of the two canines and Priyatelka. Watch this space, but don’t watch it constantly because it may take me a while. Determination will get me through!
