Cyclist are environmentally friendly.
No fossil fuel depletion,
no carbon monoxide or particulate poisons
just human powered mobility.

Cyclists are good for the country.
They keep fit and save the N.H.S money.
Heart attacks and obesity come in cars.
Cyclists do not clog up hospitals.

Cyclists are good for roads.
They do not damage them
or block people in by parking badly.
Cyclists make sure their machines are roadworthy.

Cyclists are law-abiding.
They do not ride drunk.
They do not break urban speed limits.
Pedestrians rarely die in cycling accidents.

Cyclists are brave.
They face the morning rush hour,
biomechanical sacs, blood and bone,
mounted on two-wheeled velocipedes.
They brave the onslaught of petrochemical mastodons.

Cyclists are nice people.
No road rage or apopopleptic hornhonking,
no redfaced, expletive deleted tantrums,
they find another way.

Cyclists are pretty.
Reflective, multicoloured garb,
like streetbound fireflies
they dart between carbon monoxide belching cages.

I like cyclists.
