Q/- Charlotte's web

She would not know love even if it shouted out her name.
Drives over the hill 'cos the grass is always greener.
Alive to any compliment she'll preen herself and blow the rent
for the dress designed to make some punter keener.
And the blood it rages round my face,
Guess I've found my reason to leave this place.
As the seasons change and the flood tides ebb
I think I'm finally free of Charlotte's web
I built her a chair. She said it felt like a pedestal.
I said, 'sit on the floor if it makes you feel better.'
The decline in my self-esteem coincides with my fractured dream,
I knew then and there it was time to forget her.
I raise my voice to say 'unfair'
and realise that I don't really care.
For the seasons change and the flood tides ebb
I feel I'm finally free of Charlotte's web.
