Speechless

I'm a young child in pieces on the floor.
Broken body; a casualty in someone else's war.
Legs don't work, mouth won't work
but my arms reach out for you.
I'm a train wreck, don't much care if I survive.
Spirit fading, the thought of you keeps me alive.
Arms don't work, legs don't work
but my soul calls out for you.
Don't pull me from the wreckage,
leave me here the fault is mine
I'd not be battered, bleeding
If I took another line.
I'm in prison for a crime that wasn't mine.
Far from happy but resolved to do my time.
Arms won't work, mouth won't work
But my heart call's out to you.
Don't free me from this prison
Leave me here the fault is mine
It's a cell I built here for myself
I must speak up or take another line.
I'm a young soul, just not sure what I should do.
I want to hold you, but I can't get my message through
Arms won't work, mouth won't work
But my heart call's out to you.
